The Bluedot Series is a contemporary take on traditional Delft Blue ware. It starts with a simple question: how do you honor a centuries-old tradition without freezing it in time? Inspired by the visual language of classic Delft Blue pottery, the Bluedot Series moves away from familiar scenes like windmills, florals, ships, and pastoral landscapes. Instead, it focuses on pattern and rhythm, building its design through layered shades of blue. Rather than telling stories through imagery, rhythmic compositions of blue dots echo the ornamental logic of Delft ceramics, but in a more abstract, contemporary way. The result is a piece that feels familiar yet fresh, rooted in tradition but expressed in an abstract modern language.

About the designer
Nynke Tynagel is a Dutch artist based in Leidschendam. After graduating, she became a co-owner of Studio Job, one of the world's most influential design and art studios. After over 20 years creating Studio Job's signature graphics, she now runs her own studio, Nynke Tynagel. Nynke's work features bold, expressive, and iconic imagery, blending heraldic and pop cartoonish styles to create strong, narrative-driven art.
