Mirrors can be quite honest. Dotty introduces a layer of dots that merges with the reflected image, creating a subtle distraction and gently blurring reality. The interplay between a graphic grid and a realistic image is a recurring theme in Bertjan Pot’s work. In Dotty, this dialogue takes on a new dimension: the mirror transforms the dotted pattern into a three-dimensional grid, while the realistic imagery is continuously shaped by whatever is reflected.
