Coming this September!

Cassata collezione is a collection of handblown table-glass, designed by Boris de Beijer. This collection is inspired by glassware from classical antiquity, using the same methods as the ancient greeks and romans did. It’s name, 'Cassata Collezione’ is a flirtatious reference to the colourful Sicilian dessert, which just like the glassware has an ancient history, reaching back for over more then a millennium. Every piece is made using straightforward techniques, which doesn’t hide small flaws and imperfections, therefore each piece is unique.

The series consists of two drinking glasses and three candlesticks.

About the designer

Boris de Beijer is a Dutch designer and artist based in The Hague. After graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2011, he developed a multidisciplinary practice that moves between design, craft and sculpture.

Drawing on traditional techniques and craftsmanship, Boris transforms common materials into objects that resemble glass, minerals and precious metals, creating a distinctive and often otherworldly visual language.

In recent years, he has expanded his work to include glass, collaborating closely with expert glassblowers. His work has been exhibited internationally and is included in collections such as the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, CODA Museum and MAD Museum in New York.
